APPEARANCE: Here!

BACKGROUND:

PERSONALITY:
If you need a job done, Knock Out... well, he might be the 'Con for the job. It depends on what he gets out of the job. It also depends on just how dirty the job is, and will his finish get scratched? And if it's a job below his dignity, well, that's right out -- unless it's someone asking it of him that could ruin his day if he says no. Knock Out is capable and fearless… when he wants to be, which is when he’s confident that he has a good shot. He's a medic with skill enough to treat Megatron himself (even if his preference is disassembling), and he's also a quick and able warrior. But there's no doubt that when the going gets tough, while the tough get going, Knock Out looks around for the quickest way to higher ground.
Knock Out is impressively proud of himself and his good looks, more so than anyone else around him. He chose a luxury car as his alternate mode not because it was useful -- the typical Decepticon jet would have been of far more use -- but because it looked good. Knock Out is flashy, happily so, and appreciates anything else that matches his taste. He’s quick with a compliment for anyone around him that meets his standards, and isn’t above a little mid-battle flirtation. He can be suave and charming if it strikes him to be, especially if it throws someone else off their game. He’s not without that typical Decepticon cunning either, after all.
There's no question that he's ambitious, but it’s tempered by a healthy dose of self-preservation, which is really his strongest instinct. But while not in mortal danger, he’ll toady up to anyone if it means he might secure a little more power or respect for himself. He even helped Starscream hatch a plot to put a comatose Megatron out of action permanently, as it would mean that the new Overlord Starscream would make him second in command. His loyalties tend to lie where he'll find greatest benefit to himself. Of course, as soon as it was apparent that wasn’t going to work out in the stealthy, underhanded (and most importantly, safe) way they’d intended it, the plan was off, and Knock Out was perfectly happy to slip back into his rightful rank on the ship and put all thoughts of mutiny from his mind.
But all thoughts for self and survival aside, Knock Out does manage to make friends… or at least he had a friend, namely in his partner Breakdown. Breakdown seemed to be the only person he really trusted in the series. Everyone else was regarded as an enemy, even those on his own side (especially those on his own side; they’re Decepticons, after all), but while he was alive Breakdown was someone Knock Out could safely whine to, have fun with, and make cover for him when he shirked his duties to go out racing humans. They had a particularly close bond that required minimal verbal communication, and a shared love of stupid puns. They were as close of friends as were ever depicted on the Decepticon side. And Decepticons aren’t especially known for showing sorrow over the loss of a partner, but when Breakdown was killed by a rogue Decepticon and had his body stolen and puppeteered around by a human organization, Knock Out was more than happy to gleefully exact revenge against the human who had orchestrated it all and worn Breakdown’s body around after death.
It can't be said that Knock Out doesn't enjoy himself, though. He's playful (sadistically so, sometimes, but playful nonetheless), has a penchant for wordplay and quips, and can never turn down a good street race. He even stops mid-escape from Bumblebee to see why Bumblebee wouldn't transform into car mode and chase Knock Out properly. Though, of course, that self-preservation kicked right back in again as soon as Bumblebee got frustrated enough to be a potential threat to him again. And when the Decepticons captured the Autobot Smokescreen to remove a precious artifact that had been concealed within his chassis, Knock Out enjoyed making him squirm for a few seconds with the impending threat of his lowering buzzsaw, before laughing and retrieving the artifact cleanly and painlessly with the help of a phasing device. It never hurts to make them sweat a little, keep them on their toes. But while he’s certainly never painted as a warm individual, Knock Out doesn’t actually go out of his way to make anyone around him suffer for no reason. A good reason being, of course, that they deserved it. After his initial revenge-fueled sadistic glee had faded, there was nothing but a callous, almost bored disregard shown for that captured human, still locked into Breakdown’s body, while Knock Out blatantly used him for experimentations. He is, after all, not exactly Autobot material.
ABILITIES:
He can turn into a car! How nice. He can also project a hardlight hologram, which is a human avatar (or any shape he wants it to be, really) that can be used to fit into lil areas that he can’t squeeze into as a robot. It can interact with the environment, but it takes a decent amount of concentration to keep it moving around and solid. He’s also good with mechanics, as one might expect from a robot doctor. And finally, his hands can transform into useful things like drills and circular saws, which can be used as weapons if need be.
INVENTORY:
He comes in with just his lovely, charming self. (But if he’s going out on mission, he’ll have to have ALASTAIR pack him some energon cubes for picnic lunch rather than People Food.)

Listen up, team Audentes. I can overlook all the indignities of my arrival here [ that's a lie; he's got scratches in his paint from the castle walls and someone is going to pay for that… but that's a matter for later. ] -- if you can point me toward a good buffer. I think you'll find it's a perfectly modest request, considering everything I've been through after my arrival. I'm not even asking for anyone to run it!
[ a beat ]
Not that I'd say no to that. Experienced buffers only, please. This is a high quality paint job I'm working with, here, I can't have just anyone laying on hands.
